OUR STORY

We didn't plan a saree brand.
The saree kind of planned us.

Growing up, the saree was just always there. Our grandmother wore one every day. Our mother did too. It wasn't a special occasion thing — it was Tuesday. It wiped our faces and our hands. We pulled at it, hid behind it, draped it over chairs to make tents on the terrace. And at the end of its long life, it became a bedsheet. A beloved, familiar, still-useful bedsheet.

That's the thing about a saree. It never really stops being useful. It never stops being comfortable. And it never, ever stops being beautiful.

"We are three siblings who kept saying 'we should do something together.' Aariyaa is us finally doing it."

One of us is a techie. One is a sculptor. One has been running businesses long enough to know what actually works. Between the three of us — and honestly, our spouses deserve equal credit here — we had everything we needed: the eye, the systems, the hustle. So we built Aariyaa.

We're a young brand. We're honest about that. We work with trusted vendors, source in small batches, and see every piece before it reaches you. As we grow, we want to work directly with artisans. For now, we're careful, personal, and genuinely invested in every saree we send out.

Where our taste comes from

We are Gujarati Jain by roots — and Gujarat knows textiles the way some places know food. Kutch, especially, is in a different league: the handwork, the craft, the colour, the creativity. That's in our bones.

But we grew up in Bangalore. Which means we also grew up with south Indian temple borders, silk motifs, restrained elegance, and a completely different idea of what "beautiful" looks like. Living between both worlds gave us a curatorial instinct we're proud of — colourful but not loud, classic but not stiff, always balanced.

What we actually obsess over

For a saree to be on Aariyaa, it has to be easy. Easy to wear, easy to manage, easy to love on a regular day — not just a wedding. The saree has always been a deeply considered garment — in terms of comfort, energy, even the way fabric moves with a body. We pick ours with that in mind. Cotton linen, soft crepe, tissue, matka — fabrics that feel good from the first drape.

And we thought hard about the blouse problem. Ninety-five percent of our colours are chosen to work with what's already in your wardrobe. You don't need to wait for a new blouse to be stitched before you can wear your new saree. The remaining five percent are for when you want to go somewhere different — and we think those are worth it.

When you order from us, we want you to feel certain — that it will arrive, that the colour is true, that the quality is exactly what we said it was. Fair pricing, no surprises, no disappointments. That's the whole deal.

Tell us your saree story

A mother's saree that became a daughter's dress. One that kept a baby warm as a makeshift mattress. One that was borrowed, then never returned, and somehow that was fine. Every family has a saree story — probably more than one.

We have a dedicated space on Aariyaa for exactly this. Come share yours.

No other garment does what a saree does.
It is one size — and it is every size.

It doesn't ask you to change for it.

It accepts you — exactly as you are, exactly as you come.
